How To Pack For a Ski Trip With Kids
My husband and I recently traveled with our 3 boys (ages 9, 7 & 3) to Keystone, Colorado. Four of the five of us have never seen that volume of snow, much less been to anywhere where below zero was commonplace. It was an incredible trip and we will be back. I have already shared what you need to know about Taking a Ski Trip with Kids. I thought it would also be helpful to create a cheat sheet of what to pack.
Waterproof | Water Repellant ::
When purchasing gear, you want to aim for waterproof or water repellant, especially for gloves and shoes. Wet gear is useless in freezing (or below) temps. I feel like it bears mentioning that this year, more than ever, it is so important to shop local. So where you can find the gear locally, of course, I would encourage you to do so. If you can borrow it from a friend, great. I also know that many of us are trying to save money where we can so I will admit that Target and Amazon had some great deals on some of our essential items. That is why I included links to what we purchased, when applicable.
Ability to Launder Determines Quantity Needed ::
We were able to pack less of the below because our accommodations had access to a washer and dryer. Keep in mind my kids wore these items every time they stepped outdoors and if they got wet, they were useless. This is primarily a list for what to wear when you will be outdoors for extended periods of time in the elements. However, I did still wear leggings, jeans, sweaters / sweatshirts, slippers around the house. If we were outdoors, the below was always necessary to stay warm.
