A Weekend Away ::
This past weekend, both the New Orleans and Red Stick Moms Blogs were thrilled to spend time at the Southern Hotel. It was a wonderful occasion for our teams to gather collectively to plan a phenomenal 2018, learn more about each other, and take in some much needed R&R.
The Southern Hotel is located in the quaint town of Covington, just North of Lake Pontchartrain. It’s an easy drive from central New Orleans and a sweet escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Once you arrive, you’ll feel all that stress melt away as you take in the meticulously appointed lobby and lounge areas.
We cannot recommend the Southern Hotel enough for a weekend away, without going too far away. Enjoy the charm of Covington, the impeccable service of the staff at the Southern, and time with your loved one(s).

Ready to Come Home ::
As nice as it was to escape from normal life, especially when you’re in a tranquil and relaxing environment, we were all missing our munchkins by the end and ready to come home. It’s true what they say, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” I long for a little space from time-to-time, but after a day or so, I’m very ready to squeeze those little munchkins, and they miss me, too.
As a parent, it’s so important to remember who you are outside the home. We encourage you all to take a lunch, a bath or even a weekend away to recharge your batteries. We sure are glad that we did.
And, if you’re looking for a staycation, we truly recommend the Southern Hotel.
