Can Pregnancy Dreams Predict the Sex of Your Baby?
Many of you know that your dreams during pregnancy can get a little wacky. I forgot about this side effect of pregnancy until I became pregnant for the second time and starting having some really weird dreams – like “a giant spider turns into the kidnapper from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and tries to become my best friend” weird.
I know that hearing about other people’s dreams is not the most exciting thing. I, for one, have been known to sigh and roll my eyes when people ask me if I want to hear about their dreams from the night before. That said, you’ve got to hear about my dreams! I am convinced that my pregnancy dreams have predicted the sex of my babies.
First Pregnancy Dreams
When I was pregnant with my first child, I had very vivid dreams. And in every one of them the baby I was carrying was a boy.
Dream #1: We found out the baby was a boy during the ultrasound. He smiled at us and, surprisingly, had a full mouth of braces.
Dream #2: I bought a bunch of girl clothes before the baby was born. Cut to a year later, my husband is fussing at me for dressing our son in all of the girl clothes.
Dream #3: What we thought was a third leg was actually an abnormally large baby penis. The doctor marveled at its size.
The verdict? When my husband and I went for the anatomy scan, I felt in my heart of hearts that I was carrying a boy. Before the ultrasound tech even announced the sex, I said, “It’s a boy, right?” I honestly felt like my dreams were my subconscious telling me what to expect. My dreams were right. I delivered a little boy in 2013 and there’s lots of things to love about being a boy mom.
Second Pregnancy Dreaming
I am now in the third trimester with my second child. I didn’t dream about the sex of this baby until late into the first trimester.
Dream #1: I was at the hospital walking up and down the hall with my husband a day after giving birth. We were discussing names for the baby. They were all girl names. When we arrived at the nursery to look at our baby, we picked up a beautiful baby girl who smiled up at us with the most jacked up set of teeth we’d ever seen. Then we started wondering if there was such a thing as orthodontists for babies. (What is it with my “babies with braces” dreams???)
Dream #2: In my second dream, I was shopping with my daughter, who just happened to be Madeline from the children’s book series.
So, did my dreams predict the sex of the baby the second time? Yes! A blood test and an ultrasound confirmed that we are expecting a baby girl this fall!
Just Another Old Wives’ Tale?
Maybe this is just a bunch of hogwash. Maybe it is just a coincidence that my dreams were accurate. Or maybe the little babies growing inside of me were telling me something. All I know is that if I get pregnant a third time and my dreams once again predict the sex of the baby, I will be convinced that it is a scientific fact that your dream can predict whether you are having a boy or a girl. And you will not be able to persuade me otherwise.
I dream I had a boy and everyone is dreaming someone in the family is having a boy I heard it’s the opposite is this right?
I don’t know what I dreamt. It was a it was quite dim and choppy, but I ended up dreaming me making it to 6 month of pregnancy with a girl. It’s quite early by maybe less than a month ago with being my first pregnancy. I believe in dreams for the admirability of the structure of the mind has formed. Dreams reflect to me.
I had a dream that the midwifes assistant read me my gender results and told me it was a girl in my dream i asked her again just to be sure and she said yes its a little girl congratulations
I had a dream I was laying down trying to turn over and then my baby was in my hand naked I saw it was a girl I panicked trying to call the doctor. I sure hope it’s a girl
I kept having a dream of a little boy standing in front of a bike rake at a building he was blond with blue eyes and I was taking pictures of him .. I kept having this same dream and it was right my son is 3 1/2 and I didn’t know then but when he was 2m we moved to a building and it’s the same one as my dream
My first pregnancy I had a dream that every single person around me was pregnant and all having girls I ended up having a daughter (: now this time I’ve had 2 very vivid dreams about having boys the first one I didn’t know until I got home and changed his diaper lol I didn’t see his face though , the second one which was two nights ago I saw his face big brown eyes light skin and a bunch of silky black hair ???? I find out what I’m having next week I’m so in love with the idea of having a son I can’t wait to find out!!!
is it a boy?
I dreamnt that am at hospital bed and was having a sore tummy and the doctor puts on ultrasound which confirmed that I am pregnant and I was so happy even the doctor and the nurses on the ward congratulated me
I had a dream at being of my pregnancy and it was a boy baby then later on I started having dreams of it being a baby girl how do I know what to believe ?
Dreams do tell us what were having and I’m a strong believer in that. My first pregnancy I wanted a boy and thought I’d have a boy but I dreamt of a baby in a pink blanket getting passed to me and when time came for ultrasound they said it was a girl ..even tho I thought I’d have a boy my dream told me nope I was having a girl. Then with my second pregnancy I thought it was gna be a girl and had all girl names picked out and didnt even look much into boy names this time around but I had a dream of a boy this time around blonde hair and blue eyes looking right at me in a hamster ball? Lol it was a strange dream but I still believed I was having a girl. Then at 28 weeks I delivered super early and I ended up having my first boy without even picking boy names yet so I had to come up with his name on the spot and funny thing is he had blonde hair just like my dream and blue eyes at birth anyways.. keep in mind I’m a brunette, brown eyes and so is my daughter …now I’m pregnant with my 3rd kid and I wanted a girl this time but kept telling myself itd be a boy just in case so I wouldnt be bummed if I didnt get the sex I wanted. Anyways I dreamt of a girl in my first trimester and by now I’ve learned to go with what my dreams tell me and I ended up having the ultrasound and what do u know it’s most definitely a girl they said. So yes all 3 pregnancies of mine, every time my dream told me what I was having even when I didnt believe it. So I do believe I’ll have a blonde little girl this time around cuz that’s how she looked in my dream.
My first pregnancy I dreamed that I’d have a little boy and actually saw him in my dream and really did birth a boy and he looks exactly like the little boy in my dream. I’m not pregnant again for the 3rd time (second one was a miscarriage) and I dreamed last night of a little girl. I find out what I’m having March 23rd and I can’t wait to see if my dream is correct!
