A Love Letter To My Minivan

Dear Blanche,

Oh my beloved Toyota Sienna, although we have only been together a short time you have done so much for us already. The relationship is new but the loyalty runs deep. I had my “dream car” until you came into my life. While I was sad to see that dream car go, you have quickly taken its place and have treated me better than that other vehicle ever could.

The silent rides have been so sweet. Your built in dvd player has transformed my children from wild fighting heathens to civilized, adorable brothers. I no longer have to referee backseat fights or turn the music volume to full blast to drown out senseless arguments like who’s birthday is first. Speaking of music, it is delightful that I can enjoy my gangsta rap or Britney while my kids listen to Lego Movie 2 via wireless headphones.

Your doors…..oh your automatic doors. I could go on and on and on about how life changing your automatic doors are. It is so liberating that my kids can let themselves out of the car with a push of a button. My sweet boys don’t have to worry about accidentally dinging cars next to us because they swung the door open too fast. I don’t have to worry about somebody parking too close and my kids not being able to get in.

Thank you for being spacious enough to fit all of our friends. You have safety transported the Mom Squad to nights out and a weekend away. We were able to share a lot of laughs and pile a lot of luggage in you. My kids love that all of their friends can hop in and ride with us whether we are going to swim practice or on an adventure. Two moms and five kids? No problem! We are looking forward to even more giggles and memories to be had in your three rows.

My husband, the boys, and I could not be more grateful to have you in the family, and we haven’t even taking you on a vacation yet. You are exactly what we needed, and you have exceeded our expectations thus far. Honestly, I don’t know how we survived this long without you. Some may say you are “uncool” and that I have “sold out”, but I don’t listen to negativity. Haters gonna hate. I just love love love my minivan.

Warmly,

A Loud and Proud Minivan Mama
