The Historic New Orleans Collection: Paging All Parents of History Buffs

If you are the parent of a high school student and/or rising freshman who is looking for an incredible summer experience for your child, then look no further. The Historic New Orleans Collection is offering its first ever summer camp appropriately called, “Curator Camp.”

Curator Camp is geared towards high schoolers who have a genuine interest in history and introduces campers to the inner workings of museums. Campers get to craft a topic, conduct research and design an exhibition. They also have an opportunity to explore past, present, and future Historic New Orleans Collection exhibitions. Campers will even get to create their own exhibitions during the one-week camp session. Each session will end with an opening party for the camper’s exhibition that is open to family and friends. How amazing is that?

There are two sessions to choose from. July 15th-19th and July 29th-August 2nd from 9am-3pm. Aftercare is offered until 4:30 pm each day for $50 a session. The cost for each session is $150 and lunch is included.

Space is expected to fill up quickly, so be sure to register your child soon for this unique experience offered by The Historic New Orleans Collection. You can also learn more about the camps HERE.
