My Favorite Mom Hack :: Walmart Grocery Pickup

If you would have asked me a year ago the last time I shopped at a Walmart, my response would be vastly different than it is now. I was a strict Target shopper and rarely went to Walmart, maybe once or twice a year. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy a good value; I just couldn’t get past the crowds and the lack of service I received. But now, I shop at Walmart WEEKLY!

What changed you ask? Walmart Grocery Pickup!

My life has forever changed since using this fabulous service. And this post is not sponsored – I just love it that much! We not only have many store locations throughout the New Orleans area, but we also have just a drive up location in Metairie and it’s amazing. And I must brag on the employees – they have all been absolutely lovely! Quite the difference from shopping in store.

So are you wondering how it works? It’s super easy.

To start a Walmart Grocery order, just go to Walmart Grocery and set up an account. From there, set your pickup store and choose your date and time. Now, you start making your list!

So go ahead and add all your grocery items. You can also add items like toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, dish soap, etc. You can search for practically anything in the store in the search bar and if it comes up, you can buy it! I read on one site that there are about 3,000 items you can choose from. Crazy!

Once you’ve made your list and checked it twice, go on to check out. From there it will ask you if you would like to substitute any items and you can check yes or no. The way substitution works is if your item is out, they will substitute your item for the closest alternative. If for some reason that is cheaper, they will refund you the difference. If the item is more expensive, you pay the lower price. You can also choose to not accept substitutions, but in my experience, it has always worked out.

So once you are all checked out, you will then receive a confirmation email that lists all your items and have your pickup date and time. But wait … did you forget an item?! DON’T FRET! You can add items to your order. A date and time will be stated that you can add items to your order, so don’t freak out that you forgot something. Crisis averted!

Now you are set. Once your date and time rolls around, just head on over to your Walmart location. Once you get there, pull into a spot. There will be a number to call, so just ring the number and state your name. From there, a Walmart employee will bring all your groceries out to you. Easy, right?

This mom just adores how easy this is. I can load up my Swagger Wagon with my 3 kids, pull up and not even have to get out of the car! Beyond easy and my mind is blown.

This has changed the way I shop. So check out Walmart Grocery, I would love to hear about your experience! I’m sure you will like it as much as I do.
