Non-Alcoholic Drinks for the Pregnant Moms!

Tis the season to be pregnant…or so it seems! Is it just me or is not every store in the mall bursting with pregnant women? So, this post is for all those expecting mommies, or for those of you who simply aren’t into libations! Just because you are pregnant, or not a fan of alcohol, doesn’t mean you should miss out on delicious and festive holiday drinks. I remember being pregnant during the holidays with my first son and thinking of the traditional drinks that I couldn’t have during the many holiday parties and get togethers. So, I became creative and looked up drinks I could alter to make non-alcoholic. There are plenty of drinks out there that skip only the booze and none of the yumminess: it’s a win-win all around!

From sparkling juices, mocktails and holiday drinks; non-alcoholic concoctions aren’t in short supply. These are just a few of my favorites:

Satsuma Rosemary SpritzSatsuma Syrup

  • Satsuma Rosemary flavored simple syrup (New Orleans Moms Blog loves the ones from Feed Me Eat Pretty)
  • Soda Water
  • Ice

To jazz up this recipe, freeze satsuma segments and use them in place of ice! For a fancy garnish, top with satsuma or lemon slices and a rosemary sprig.

Sparkling Cranberry Mocktail

  • Orange Juice
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Sparkling Water

Combine equal parts of the ingredients. Add fresh cranberries to this cocktail and serve in wine glasses to make it visually more attractive and tastier!

Apple Cider Beer

  • Apple Cider
  • Ginger Beer

Combine apple cider and ginger beer in a glass and add fresh apple slices for a fancy touch!

Pregnant or just a non-drinker, don’t miss out on an opportunity to get fancy with your drinks this holiday season. For those who are designated drivers or wishing to please a crowd of adults and children alike, I hope you enjoy these satisfying, yet safe drinks.

What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?
