We’re Four NOLA Moms Stronger: Meet the Newest Team Members

We are thrilled to introduce you all to four new members of the New Orleans Moms Blog team. Each one is a dynamic, fun, warm and inspiring New Orleans mom, and we can’t wait for you all to get to know them both online and in person at any of our upcoming events.

Myndee Corkern

Her krewe: Kadence (4), Gavin (3) and Dylan (19 months)

003

Her last NOLA meal would be: jambalaya; her grandpa’s if you want to be specific

Her favorite snowball flavor: chocolate with condensed milk

She believes the best king cakes are found: at McKenzie’s (now sold at Tastee Donuts)

During Mardi Gras, you’ll find her: near her in laws’ house in Metairie Cleary/Vets

During Saints games you’ll find her: grilling out at a friend’s house

Kids at Jazz Fest? Sure, just not mine!

Megan Albritton

Her krewe: Pearl Domenica (3) and Fern Francine (10 months)

8179238113_47c4266730_oHer last NOLA meal would be: Anything from Herbsaint or fried chicken and white beans from Lil’ Dizzy’s. I would also have to add waffles with whip cream and nutella from Refuel.

Her favorite snowball flavor: watermelon

She believes the best king cakes are found: Any and every. I love sampling all kinds of king cake. Not being from New Orleans, I feel like I don’t know what I’m looking for. But I really like the ones at Maple Street Patisserie.

During Mardi Gras, you’ll find her: Right in front of 4007 St. Charles. The in laws have a condo there and bathroom access is key!

During Saints games you’ll find her: I hate to say this but I am only a part-time Saints fan. I actually root for the Eagles. (I’m going to hide in a closet now.) But I root for the Saints when I know it won’t affect the standings of the Eagles.

Kids at Jazz Fest? Yes, yes, yes! It is so kid friendly and one of the best memories I have is spending a Friday at Jazzfest with my daughter, Pearl. I can’t wait to bring both girls this year!

Jamie Centner

Her krewe: Andrew (AJ) James (almost 4) and Christian Kent (almost 2)

Family 2Her last NOLA meal would be: I would go for the Thai Mussels at Delechaise with a Grilled Cheese and side of Duck Fat Fries! Not exactly New Orleans food, but so delicious!!!

Her favorite snowball flavor: I enjoy a Red Velvet stuffed snoball from Sals!

She believes the best king cakes are found: Praline king cake from Manny Randazzos!

During Mardi Gras, you’ll find her: It depends on which parade, but mostly on Napoleon by Superior Seafood. Neutral ground side!

During Saints games you’ll find her: We tend to hang home and enjoy friends, food and yummy beer!  Still waiting for season tickets and the perfect babysitter!

Kids at Jazz Fest? Not yet, but contemplating bringing them this year!

Mary Olivio

Her krewe: Noah (5) and Liam (22 months)

olivio-76Her last NOLA meal would be: BBQ shrimp from Mr. B’s

Her favorite snowball flavor: coconut

She believes the best king cakes are found: Randazzos

During Mardi Gras, you’ll find her: neutral ground side in Metry!

During Saints games you’ll find her: At home with family decked out in black and gold

Kids at Jazz Fest? For now, no. Once I’m done with strollers we will try it out.

Ashley Angelico
Ashley is the Co-Owner of New Orleans Mom, Red Stick Mom and Lafayette Mom, now the largest network of parenting websites in South Louisiana. Proud graduates of the University of Virginia, she and her husband Blaise spent time in Tampa and Scottsdale prior to settling down back home in New Orleans, something they both said "would never happen." An avid runner, she'll try any workout at least once and is always up for sweating with friends. When she’s not shuttling her 3 very active kids to school, gymnastics or baseball, you can find her cheering for the Saints, trying new restaurants or spending time with family and friends. She's also not afraid to return mediocre books to the library before finishing them because life is too short for bad books. A native New Orleanian, Ashley loves exploring and discovering the beauty of South Louisiana through her growing children's eyes.
