Mardi Gras Mambo Photo Contest: Win a Membership to Louisiana Children’s Museum!

It’s Mardi Gras time! Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! What would Carnival season be without a photo contest? We want to see your little ones out and about enjoying the most wonderful time of the year! After all, Mardi Gras is definitely one of the top ten reasons we love being NOLA moms, and there’s nothing like the magic of your baby’s first Mardi Gras. Not to mention, this is a holiday that provides endless craft opportunities and also the chance to host themed playdates. Something tells us that each and every one of you will have at least one – if not more – photo opps in the coming weeks, and we encourage you to get out that camera. Whether it’s a fancy DSLR or your iPhone, capture this special time of year and then share it with us in our Mardi Gras Mambo Photo Contest!

And we’re not just playing for fun (though we do think your kids are cute)! The winner will receive a Family II Membership from Louisiana Children’s Museum worth $65. It provides admission for up to five visitors.

Mardi Gras photo contest

Rules & Guidelines:

  • Photos must be of YOUR family and be taken by YOU. This is for fun. Let’s play fair.
  • Photos should feature your family/children enjoying Mardi Gras in or around the New Orleans area. It should be clear in the picture(s) that it’s Carnival season, and even better if it’s obvious where you are!
  • Please include a caption to give some added meaning or background to your photo. Share info about where you are, what you’re doing and who’s in the picture. Don’t hesitate to be witty, funny and clever!
  • You must submit your photo to the online contest here in order to be eligible. You will need to create an account with a valid email address to participate.
  • You may submit photos between now and February 13, 2013.
  • Voting will then begin and run through February 20, 2013. You won’t be able to vote until the submission window closes. Once the voting is open, you can share the entry link with anyone you’d like; people do NOT need to register to vote and each person can vote once per hour.

Follow along on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!

While not required for participation, we strongly encourage you to share as many Mardi Gras photos as you want (tagging New Orleans Moms Blog and Louisiana Children’s Museum) via social media. The NOMB team and LCM will play along, too – even though we’re not eligible to win the prize.

  • Instagram – if you’re on Instagram (we are!), please share your submissions there by tagging @NOLAMomsBlog AND using the hashtag #MardiGrasMamboWithNOMB!
  • Twitter – find New Orleans Moms Blog and LCM on Twitter and tag us, again using the hashtag #MardiGrasMamboWithNOMB (so you may say something like “Hey @NOLAMomsBlog and @LouisianaKids – our family’s having a ball at Little Rascals #MardiGrasMamboWithNOMB”
  • Facebook – like New Orleans Moms Blog and LCM on Facebook and tag us in your pictures, also using the hashtag #MardiGrasMamboWithNOMB

{Oh, and you can Instagram / Tweet / Facebook as many photos as you want – this part is just for fun. If we build a fun-filled album this way, we’ll be sure to share our favorites on the blog!}

So what are you waiting for? Start having NOLA Mardi Gras fun and snap away!

By entering the contest you are giving New Orleans Moms Blog permission to share your photos with our readers. You must be a Louisiana resident to be eligible to win.

An avid runner, she'll try any workout at least once and is always up for sweating with friends. When she’s not shuttling her 3 very active kids to school, gymnastics or baseball, you can find her cheering for the Saints, trying new restaurants or spending time with family and friends.
